In the last years woven tapes for technical use faced an unexpected success with lots of new applications in a wide variety of sectors. For over 40 years Filmar's "industrial technical tapes" division has been producing tapes for the insulation of electrical motors, transformers, electrical and communication cables, and tapes for vulcanization of rubber products. Filmar takes particularly care of their customers providing as much as possible best quality and innovation. Raw materials are subjected to rigorous selection and control, and new woven fibres are tested continuously. Thanks to their technology and high production capacity, our weaving and rolling plants can satisfy any demand. Our test and inspection laboratory is equipped to guarantee that our tapes conform completely to required technical specification. Lastly Filmar offers not only the widest and finest range of technical tapes on the market, but service, precision and accurancy as well. In a word: reliability, affirmed by the trust of demanding customers and demonstrated by success achieved in prestigious projects.
GLASS TAPES Thanks to their exceptional thermal and mechanical characteristics, glass tapes are ideal for insulation in higher thermal classes. Filmar technology provides users a complete range of size, thicknesses and weights. Tapes are produced in two different grades: tapes with textile-type size for universal use, and tapes with aminosilanic size. This second type is highly compatible with epoxy resins, and is therefore needed to achieve extremely high quality impregnation and perfectly even thickness. TAPES FOR CABLE INSULATION Tapes for cables are woven with state-of-the-art techniques, using the entire range of natural, artificial, and synthetic textile fibers. Tapes for vulcanization of rubber are specifically designed for long life. Thanks to the use of exclusive electronic controls, our precise rolling technology guarantees absolutely uniform winding tension. This means that very large, stable, and compact rolls can be formed, assuring quality, safety, and savings in the cable production process. COTTON TAPES Cotton tapes are produced with two different grades of thread, and are suitable for insulation in lower thermal classes. America cotton tapes, with a red line in the centre, are widely used for electro technical and telephonic applications. Mako cotton tapes are produced with very thin threads, and are recommended for applications requiring narrow thickness, superior mechanical characteristics and impeccable appearance. POLYESTER TAPES Polyester heat-shrink tapes are woven with fibres featuring elevated retraction at high temperatures. They are therefore indispensable for producing self-locking windings by means of appropriate heat treatment, and are recommended for intermediate thermal classes. Heat-shrink tapes are universally used to insulate transformer cores in air and in oil. They are also often used as waste tapes for winding large electrical machines. | ||
